Relationship to Diabetes

I got the book by Gretchen Becker, and it's a comfort to know that as diabetes runs in my family, it's can be hereditary. I was just putting it down to just my weight. What I found disturbing is that some people have it unknowingly for years, due to mainly if the blood levels are slightly high - Some GP's just say it's down to your weight. When I found out in June, it was because I had to give a blood test for the Obesity Clinic. I was told to go to my surgery in two weeks time or more. The Nurse at the surgery said -" We haven't got it yet, however if there were problems, you would have been notified". Going back to the Obesity CliniC - The Dr asked if I had submitted a blood sample - he looked and then he told me; he even said he couldn't understand why nobody had told me(!). THANK GOD I SAID YES TO THE OBESITY CLINIC!!!!!

It constantly surprises me how often doctors miss the diagnosis or don't divulge important information. Hope you find the book useful! 🙂
