Xmas eve was not as expected, planned to go out with friends and as normal expected to be home before 8 pm ish.
The company was good as was the entertainment which carried on past the usual times so was out a lot longer than expected. So I tested discreetly as I thought at the table, another diabetic spotted this and moaned that I did not need to test and should of gone to the toilet to test.
No way am I going to test in a toilet, and rely on the hospital HbA1c tests and meters are a waste of time.
On the plus side a friend I was with for the rest of the evening a non diabetic, who did not mind me testing. Earlier she was concerned as she did not what to look out for if I went hypo and what my signs of a hypo were and the best way to help if I went hypo. As the evening went on and the lack of food was kicking in the hypo treats came out, not so much to control a hypo, but more to prevent a hypo from happening and managed the night without any problems, eventually getting home just as Xmas day struck.
