Over the few weeks I've been on insulin I've noticed changes in my sleeping pattern. I used to wake four or five times in the night, spin like a top all night and get up feeling really tired. Now I rouse maybe once during the night, barely move at all and wake up earlier, well rested and alert. Oh and I haven't had a weird dream once in the last few weeks. I feel good, I'm no longer depressed and I have loads more energy. I've still got a way to go, but I really hope this lasts. B-)

Do any of you have sleep problems too?

That is so wonderful to hear Alison :D I have periods of insomnia, but usually due to various worries and things on my mind, but that has always been the case even before I was diagnosed. I think you are feeling a lot like I did in the months after diagnosis - I had obviously been starved of insulin in the months (or even years) previously, and once I was on regular doses I felt a million percent better - really quite remarkable the difference I felt! 🙂

I hope that it continues for you os that you can feel that this is what life should be like and it becomes a new 'normal' to have better sleep and more energy! 🙂

Always always when my BG isn't behaving itself. Either way. Or both.

I've gone for weeks sometimes going to bed, then getting up again 3 or 4 hours later not having dropped off. Another 2 hours reading and I'm done for till lunchtime, which is NBG at all. Makes no difference what time I go to bed then, neither does physical exercise. Only one cure! :D

LOL I just remembered absolutely yonks ago (like 30 years) I had difficulty sleeping and went to docs, he asked all the usual things eg Tried physical exercise? Tried a milky drink at bedtime? Err, tried having making love?

I burst out laughing at that one and said, Look here Doctor, I know I've been married 10-ish years now - but I can certainly assure you that sex hasn't got that boring yet that it sends me to sleep now!

Apparently that wasn't quite what he had in mind! - he never did explain LOL
