Spoke to the DSN yesterday and asked for a sooner than normal apt at local hospital. Had phone call just on 5 pm. Asking if I wanted a cancelation apt for this Friday. She then went on to tell me they were not allowed to send out mail by 1st class anymore so I probably would not receive the apt letter by apt time 🙄
Lovely service though from this lady.
Does make you wonder though how many missed apts there are due to not being received in time.

Sue thats is excellent, these days alot of places lack a good service but not that place x

I wonder why they waste postage costs & paper to send out appointment letters at all, provided the appointment has been made by phone so both clinic and patient agree on date & time. Unless the patient needs prooof to show an employer, of course.

Sometimes, I think appointments are missed because letters are sent out so far in advance eg I have a appointment in January, letter received back in May, long before I started my acadamic year diary for 2011/2012, although I wrote it in advance section of previous diary.

That is brilliant service.

My employer is pretty good if I say I have an appointment but if it is going to be longer than a couple of hours they (not unreasonably) like proof.

Sounds good indeed..

I'm pretty lucky has I have an open booking with my clinic and if they can't see me in clinic time they will see me outside of clinic, but so far haven't needed to do this

Our hospital, do send a reminder letter a couple of weeks before your appointment..

They did try the phone message reminder but I think this sort of failed!
