Good question

Quite a few people report having stomach issues varying from mild to OMG but some find it helps to take them with food and that the issues settle down. There is a slow release version which is supposed to be gentler on the stomach. Some people cannot tolerate them at all so are prescribed an alternative.
The dose is usually started low then increased over a few weeks to minimise the impact.
I personally have not taken it so am reporting others experience.

I had issues with the standard one but have been fine with the slow release one, so long as I take it with a decent sized meal not with breakfast

I take the standard metformin (500mg) 3× a day and have no problems but it gives me gas if I have a few more carbs than usual.

The query is Metformin ? Does anyone have problems taking this drug?

Same as others - was on the standard cheap one for a bit and it was terrible. Never noticed any side effects from slow release version.

Some find their symptoms settle down after a few weeks too.

Are you taking metformin @Micky789 ? How are you finding it?
