If my doc helped me like this a year ago chances are i might not be at this stage now, i had nothing from my docs for over a year not even a hba1c or check up.
It can take 2-3 months before im actualy seen at the hospital but i dont mind that because i know im going foreward now instead of backwards, and you could have knocked me over with a feather when she said i could have as many test stips i wanted i went prepared to argue just for another 50.

brilliant news, sounds like a good step forward for you as you have worked so hard.

Pleased to hear your news. Sorted as they say. It's surprising the difference between GPs. When I was diagnosed by my GP I was given an appointment to see the practice nurse who specialised in diabities. Since then I see her every six months and have a full checkup once a year, the works, blood test, weight, height, foot inspection etc. Always willing to listen if I have any queries and give helpful advice.I have always had a prescription for lancets and strips from the word go. They are brilliant. If they can give such a good caring service there, why can't it be done with other GPs. I consider myself very lucky when I read some of the problems others have, it just isn't right.
