Many will know I’ve been on a rollercoaster the last few months.

I’ve finally had confirmation that the biopsies done have come back clear.

The blood in my urine that has been picked up consistently over the months is not flagging anything up to them, they say because I’m under 40, my white blood cell count was fine and I have no symptoms such as burning or stinging when going to the toilet, they are not concerned.

However they have said they’ll leave it up to me if I want to have a procedure done to look into my bladder etc but that’s for me to decide.

They have left the referral for the kidney specialist in place because of the swollen kidney they found on scans.

Well that's a great early Christmas present for you @MarkGeordie! You must be very relieved. Hope the referral with the kidney specialist brings equally good news

So pleased for you Mark. It seems this has been hanging over you for so long, so it must be a huge relief to have the negative biopsy results. Obviously, it means that you still don't have a diagnosis though which has to be frustrating. Are you still getting the hot flushes etc that you were suffering earlier in the year?

Fantastic news, so pleased for you.

Basically in terms of the hot flushes, they did all the tests they could and it was deemed by the diabetes consultant that it was more than likely nerve damage in my face which he said can be quite unusual that was causing me to feel like it was a hot flush. I admit I’ve made changes over the past few months and my diabetic control is even tighter than it was and I get it less often but I do still suffer. I’ve had no more consultations since so I don’t know if there's medications that can help or not.

The kidney side of things has been said to be separate to all of that.

Ah thats wonderful news that your biopsies have come back clear Mark :D
