Diabetes is a battle

I cannot help myself

I know I shouldn’t do it

As it’s damaging my health

I’m dipping into crispy things

A carbohydrate treat

The guilt is overwhelming

It’s detrimental to my feet

I’m into sugar stealth mode

I’m sneaking around my home

The kitchen is my playground

Don’t leave me on my own

Can’t trust myself to stop it

And start to train the mind

Concentrate on being tougher

Temptation left behind

It’s time to think about it

The need inside is strong

I hate all that I’m doing

I’m a diabetic going wrong

Temptation mustn’t grab you

Or your body falls apart

Don’t sabotage your good work

We can do this....now.....Let’s start
