Going to France tomorrow....

My first trip abroad since diagnosis 18 months ago.
Booked a trip to Paris on the Eurostar for tomorrow. Will probably stay a week or so. Will take a fresh new packet of Metformin & Statin with me. Won't be taking the finger prick BGM. Will have my phone with NHS app to show perscription for metformin & statin but I'm assuming that France doesn't have any issues with it.
In all truthfulness I'm going to be eating bread and especially apple turnovers and custard flan (very nostalgic). Obviously I'm aware of my diagnosis is there a way to mitigate? I'm NOT going to be pigging out!
Also is there any advice?
Thanks!

Go for it. I went on holiday this year and just ate and drank normally. I didn't pig out, but did have the odd cheesecake, bread, potato and beer.

A week later my hba1c came back normal. (And I'd recently stopped Metformin)

I always have some bread when I go to France. There is nothing like it! I try to balance it all out, eg if I have bread or croissant for breakfast, I'll try and have a carb free lunch (cheese and salad usually), and a medium carb dinner, or low carb and a pudding. Oh, and red wine of course!
I hope you have a wonderful holiday and enjoy the food 🙂

Enjoy your holiday and don't worry too much about the carbs. If you are not going mad a little of what you fancy for a few days will be a nice treat.
