Is the Glucose Testing results more important after 1 or 2 hours? I have read that you need to test 2 hours after eating.

What are people's views on this?

Well you get more useful info if you test immediately before you eat and again 2 hours later and comparing them and what you're looking for ideally is an increase no greater that 2.8 (to be precise) between the two.

If the increase is far greater than that, this means whatever you just ate was not the best meal for you - so whatever the carbohydrate content of it was, needs reducing in order for your body to be able to handle it OK. Say you had a chop, some spuds and other veg, next time have less spuds and more other veg and then see how the two tests compare - etc.

Hello! I think the standard recommendation is to test 2 hours after first bite.

However, it depends on what you are testing - some sugars are really fast acting and will raise your BGs quicker than others eg within 30 minutes. Others will slow down if fat is involved or at different times of day. Basically, it can get very complicated.

There's a blog post on testing and adjusting in the newbie section I think. Also Gretchen Becker has a section on testing in her book My First Year: Type 2 diabetes.
