Im worried that my glucose may be temporarily raised due to the covid and being potentially dx with diabetes as a result when it may not actually be diabetes

You can say you’ve recently had Covid. They can then make a note of that. You could also ask for an HbA1C in addition to the fasting blood sugar. That way you’ve covered all bases 🙂

I could do that although my GP is not that receptive ie they see whats in front of them. I thought about leaving it a few weeks but knowing my luck I would catch covid again plus I know realistically I should not delay that long

Best to get it done, I think @Ezra As you say, you could get Covid again. They’ll repeat it if they need to, so don’t worry.

Even if you got incorrectly diagnosed with diabetes (extremely unlikely) you’d be monitored annually, always found to have perfect blood sugars and not need any medication. Sounds like that would satisfy your anxieties about developing diabetes anyway, you’d have regular reassurance that your blood sugars are perfect.

Many congratulations and best of luck with your other fight. A healthy diet and regular exercise if able, will be equally important in that battle as you have identified. All the very best to you!
