Be aware those sold in local Pharmacies usually have the most expensive test strips. Some costing up to £25.00 For 50. Many who self fund use the Code free which can be purchased from either Amazon or Home Health.

Ask at your doctors first, they may just give them out. Mine did.

Oh ok may be able to save my money lol x
We are mols in the UK.Also you need to tick say you are Diabetic to get VAT OFF. Don't be surprised if the Doctor won't give you a meter or if they do only prescribe a limited no of strips.

If your GP won't prescribe you a meter, please ignore his/her reasons. They will probably tell you that Type 2's do not need to test or that you won't understand the results. This is, of course, poppycock.🙂

I must have been really lucky. I asked the receptionist how to go about requesting a testing kit, did I need to make an appointment with the GP or nurse? And she just popped in the back and got me one! And I have never had any trouble getting strips either.

Strips for the Code Free are £8 for 50.

The corrected meter and strips are also available on eBay delivered by Royal Mail in a couple of days P&P free.
You just need to tick a box to confirm you have been diagnosed as diabetic.

Sorry Code free not corrected, wretched autocorrect!

I got mine off Amazone

Oh great ty and the test strips are cheaper im presuming ?
PS. If you do buy the meter, make sure you buy an extra tub of test strips as usually in the starter pack there are the bare minimum (about ten) which won't see you through a week of testing.
