Making an effort to increase my activity levels...not built for aerobics (not yet anyway)...so walking almost daily...trying to increase my distance...whilst have made considerable adjustments to what I eat...still not sure I have the best of diets...not keen on veggies...fish...fruit...so wanted to take a supplement to help those poor old achy joints...in addition to metformin...also take Warfarin and Ramipril so cannot take cod liver oil...pharmacist said Glucosamine & Chondroitin would be fine and have no effect on BG...now reading information to the contrary.

Its along shot...but would anyone know if Glucosamine does raise BG levels?

I don't know if it raises BG but I do know that it does bugger all for joint pain in controlled studies.🙂

I used to take but did not seem to affect Blood Sugar levels! I thought a Mikey said that it's usefulness has been debunked! Did think at one point it might help when did not take for a while as I could not get usual brand, but did cost£ 20 a month!
I have noticed since stopping I have good and a bad periods any way! I have Arthritis of my knee, as a result of slipping off bags of laundry over 40 years ago!

Ive bought these in the past but they are so big and seem to stick in my throat. Then I need to eat something to push them down so definitely don't help my BG!

Thanks Mikey...that's disappointing to hear...much more active than I have been for years...wanted a supplement since my LCHF diet is limited (my opinion)...can't take any of the usual choices because of the Warfarin...any suggestions? (be kind)...

Seems to be the general consensus of opinion grovesy...back to the drawing board.

The activity alone works, supplements don't. Simple.
Appreciate that MIkey...just thought something to ease me into increasing my walking...activity...possibly make those joints a bit more supple.

Yep I'm with Mikey on this. Did some research to see if it would help the knackered bones but nothing I read persuaded me sadly.

Coming to that conclusion myself Amigo...disappointing...since did ask pharmacist for advice.

Never ask advice from anybody who makes money from giving it. You, above all, should know that Bubbsie😉

I have found in the past that sometimes if you get pain on walking , that if you go about further the pain can ease again! Though I don't walk far enough these days , as my dog can't walk very far !
