OH and I are off to be shown how to administer the glucagon injection this afternoon. Hope OH holds out ok, he's generally ok but the needle is pretty big 😱.

Yes we are going in next time we can - as we have some expired ones now.I think this should be part of the initial training/advice bit-good luck to OH

Hope that it went well but that he doesn't need to use the glucagon.

Demonstration went fine, OH happy and more confident now incase he has to do it. When we got there the nurse had no idea why we were there as the receptionist hadn't put it in the notes - then said she'd never administered a glucagon or even had one she could show me. Luckily I had taken along an out-of-date one I had so we went through it with that one. It was worth it though. She also said always to administer in the the thigh.

Glad it went ok newbs... I showed my hubby how to use mine as my DSN didn't have time to show us at our last appointment and as hubby had taken time off work we can't go back just for that. I stopped keeping mine for years after my old work said they would not be prepared to administer it as it's a health and safety issue and I could sue them so I never really showed anyone how to use one after that. Let's hope none of us or our partners ever have to use them hey, but best to be safe than sorry

xx
