Hi guys
Some advice please I've been type 2 for a while and since a hospital admission in August/ September where they took me off too meds things have changed.
From October I was put on glicozide and Empagliflozin. However I am finding that when doing finger trick test it's over 20 every day...I've never had this problem..could it be the meds making this happen?

I need to see gp about this clearly but trying to work out what is causing it....

Thanks in advance

Hi @Suzibear79. Yes you need to see your GP as soon as you can with blood glucose readings at that level. They have all the information regarding your history and should be able to help you work out what is happening, but more importantly, get you on a regime that will bring your blood glucose levels down.

Let us know how you get on.

In the meantime do you have some ketone urine dip sticks to keep an eye on that as well as your glucose level. When are you recording the 20mmol/l, fasting? after food?

Are you washing your hands first? You need to see the doctor to get your blood sugars down if it’s that high. If you feel ill at the same time then it’s an urgent appointment you need not a routine one.

Are you taking any steroid medications?

Hi @Suzibear79 like @Docb posted just now
you really should get in contact with GP

I wondered have you had a recent Hba1c done & what meds were you taken off when you say you were taken off following an hospital visit and then put on the current two ?
