Going back to school at Monarch Academy will be business as usual this year.
Every morning, students will get off their bus, walk in to school, say hi to Bear and then start their lessons.
Bear, music teacher Kenzie Turk?s 57-pound black Labrador retriever, has become an integral part of the community after his first year at the public charter school in Glen Burnie.
The dog is even pictured in last year?s yearbook among the staff.
No, he?s not a new teacher, and he?s not a class pet. Bear is Turk?s diabetic alert dog.
