Diabities can go I'm not bothered I'm not fussed about it what's the worse I will die anyway why not die now

Kade, listen to me, I have been exactly where you are. Believe me I have. But it does get easier.

You'll have good days and bad days, that's true. But it really does get easier.

Are you needle phobic? You need counselling for that. I had to. I was terrified of needles when I was diagnosed. Speak to your doctor.

There are a few things to know. Firstly, diabetes is not your fault. It's luck of the draw, but it's nothing you've done. But, we live in a time when we can get insulin and testing strips. When I feel down about my diabetes, I like to look at the treatments of the past and that sometimes helps. If we were diagnosed just 100 years ago, the only option would have been a painful death.

Diabetes is a huge adjustment. And depression and anxiety is a huge part of it. Talk to most people on this forum and they will have had one or the other, or both. It's a change of your entire life and this is a normal reaction.

But you really do need to keep taking your insulin or else you'll end up back in hospital. And that's not good. I hate hospitals.

We are here for you. We are the people that understand some of how you're feeling.

Have small goals at the moment. Focus on being able to take your injections. And celebrate those successes.

I'm giving you virtual hugs.

Kade, hello to you.

I don't know your circumstances, so won't comment.
Just for a bit of perspective, here's mine.
Admitted to NGH on Dec 27th 2015, out of the blue with stomach problems. Came out in March, having endured nil by mouth for 2 weeks. Losing control of my bowels, several procedures, losing far too much weight, Liz being told to prepare herself. It was not good.
Been in 3 times since, several more awful procedures. Cysts on Pancreas, gall bladder diseased, AF problem, pneumonia, sepsis, going into shock etc.
This year told major surgery required, which carries severe risk.
Big effort to stay on the level with all this. Then, two weeks ago told I am now diabetic, which, means I am now suspended from the surgery list.
I have had better days.
Cant eat this, cant eat that, believe me it all seems like one long bad dream.
So, sink or swim ? maybe I won't get the chance to choose.
But, tomorrow really is another day, maybe it will be more of the above, maybe it won't.
Either way, you gotta be there to find out.

I wish you well with your particular problems.

Bill.

Hang in there, @Kade. It really does get easier to manage type 1 diabetes with time and guidance from your support team, plus this forum.

Please pick up the phone now and speak to Samaritans on 116 123. Then phone your diabetes team tomorrow at 9am.

It definitely gets easier I have had it years and go through bad spells but forgetting the problem makes it turn into a vicious circle I have ended up in hospital twice due to severe hypos while I was asleep and it was no fun and the second one was worse as I almost went into a coma since then I have not had any severe ones but the odd hypos in the day now things are bit more on track

Hi Kade, I'm really sorry to hear you are feeling so low :( I hope that things are feeling a little brighter for you this morning - remember, we are all here to support you, so you're not alone in this {{{HUGS}}} Please let your team know how you are feeling - it's far from uncommon and they will be able to help you find your way through these feelings 🙂 Let us know how you are, and keep talking 🙂

Hiya, Kade. How you doing today? 🙂

Hello @Kade

Yup. Diabetes IS rubbish. So sorry you are having to go through it. But as others have said - it is something that you can learn to live with, even if that feels impossible right now.

Do reach out and get support from the Samaritans, who you can talk to at any time of day. Diabetes UK careline can help you too 9am-6pm 0345 123 2399 who understand more about how diabetes can affect you. Also seek help from your Dr/nurse/clinic - let them know how diabetes has made you feel, and get the support you need.

Hope today is better for you.

Gosh, I hadn't realised she was so young - poor girl, teen years are bad enough anyway without the burden of D. I do hope she comes back and posts soon.
