I’m T2 and only just started insulin, my DN told me I’m aiming for 6-7 when I get up in the morning. hopefully this morning maybe the first time I’ve hit target, yesterday’s readings were quite a bit lower with a morning of 7.2 and low during the day of 6.9.

I started on 8 and now on 14 units of Humulin just before bed, DN told me my numbers are looking much better with only the odd excursion into the very low double digit readings.

last night we joined in on a virtual beer and cheese tasting it started after a meal, I drank less than two pints plus a small plate of cheese, previously I’d have drunk 3 maybe 4 pints and a lot of cheese without any side effects but I had raging diarrhoea for the rest of the evenin.

This week I tired and falling asleep on the sofa in the evening.

Could these be ny body adjusting to less carbs and more insulin?

thanks

I hoe that things have settled now @YMFB
I am not aware of such an effect by reducing carbs, but perhaps it could have been the beer.
Not sure as I only have the odd one with a curry. More of a wine drinker.

Hi @YMFB Did you test your blood sugar when you felt tired? That’s always worth doing, especially if you’re on insulin. Unusual tiredness can be a sign of both high and low sugar. Alcohol can cause hypos too as can an upset stomach.
