From scratching my head.

So, I was a lovely 4.8 before my tea tonight. I did a nice stir fry for me and the kids. Chicken, noodles lots of fresh crispy veg and a home made sweet chilli and ginger sauce. It's a family favourite that I do quite regurlarly and usually causes an aceptable 1 to 2 point rise in my BS. I had a generous (for me) portion and 2 hours later was 4.0 (?) Wasn't hungry and didn't feel low but I thought I'd better keep an eye on that so tested again at 3 hours and was 4.2. Just tested again to see if I need a snack before bed and I'm 4.8 again. 5 hours after eating. Had nothing since tea other than a cup of green tea and a glass of water.

So, is stir fry my new wonder food or has juggling my meds a bit worked even better than I thought? Also, should I eat before bed now? Hmmm. XXXXX

I dunno, when do you take your Glic, cos that's hypo-inducing and how long does it last, ditto Byetta.

I know I prefer to be about 1.0 above that at bedtime these days, but I ain't you.

Byetta actually needs a certain amount of carbs to do its stuff, doesn't it? - so you must have got it right tonight!

Hi TW and thanks for your reply. It's a funny old game isn't it?

It's my Gliclazide I'm messing around with as the consultant told me to drop my lunchtime one and then to cut my breakfast one in half if I continued to get low readings. I have my Byetta half an hour before breakfast and half an hour before tea.

I've wondered for a long while if the Glic doesn't suit me and if I'd be better off without it at all so I've been experimenting as to when to take it. In fact I've cut down to one this last couple of weeks. So far my readings are better. Last week I took just one at lunchtime. This week I'm taking it at teatime.

One big difference is my fasting levels. They have been my highest readings for ages, 8 or 9. I know that's not outrageous but if I can get them down a bit it's got to be a good thing. Anyway, all last week I've not woken to anything above 7.

I think I'll have a yoghurt or some cheese before bed and see how it goes. XXXXX

Nice healthy stir fry but i would think its more likely down to jugging your meds 🙂

Not sure what's causing it but what a lovely smooth above hypo BG pattern after eating - I hope you manage to sustain this🙂
