I’m just wondering if anyone knows how to get insulin and medication abroad, as I’m planning to travel in Australia for 6 months

Thank you

I believe Australia has a reciprocal health agreement with the UK, which entitles you to same treatment as an Australian citizen would get in Australia (ie, it might not be completely free if Australians have to pay towards their care) so you should be able to register as a temporary patient, take your prescriptions with you, and get them filled as you would at home.
Thats just a pointer in the right direction. You’ll need to Google the ins and outs, though.
.

might be an idea to try the embassy for australia

Have an amazing time @OliverJones.BU

DUK have some general pointers here:

Though I think mostly for shorter trips, rather than your 6 month adventure!

I managed to get some insulin in Portugal by showing them my prescription, Had to pay for it though

I definitely did in a suburb of Brisbane called Browns Plains (locally referred to by the next generation to me as Brown Stains) (just in the same genre as Malaysian currency, Rinngits, being aka wingnuts) Novorapid and Levemir disposable pens in my case, one of each for 60 AUD, pharmacy minimum charge for prescription drugs. Are you staying in one place or moving about, since when we went 20ish years since, for access to the reciprocal arrangement you have to see a doctor with the necessary Gov't accreditation to enable this. We were based on the outskirts of Bris but that Dr at that time was not based in Bris. Not wishing to waste a day of our hol I just went to see a local Dr which cost me 60 AUD to get the scrip to take over the rd to the pharmacy. So 120 AUD which I didn't even claim for on our Travel Insurance though it was covered.
