Hiya All
How long does take to get back to normal following illness? I had a weird sick/cold bug about 4 weeks ago and am still over the shop and playing russian roulette with corrections. This weeks waking bg's were 6.4, 7.0, 9.3, 9.8, 12.1, 8.9 and 6.1 with variations from 3.1 to 18.0 during the day! Believe it or not the week before was higher but more stable during the day.
Getting a bit sick of it now and am very tired.
Is this normal or do I need to start again with new ratios and basal?

Did you adjust your basal at all whilst you were ill? If not and you were firefighting with fast-acting then this might be why you are having problems still. I was ill last week and am still making adjustments down with doses now I am over the infection, but am having frequent hypos. It really is a tricky business because you simply have to guess how much to increase/decrease doses by - pain in the neck! Tonight I had a meal that last week needed 17 units, but gave 11 units and am still heading low 3 hours later 🙄

I would have thought that you olud be free of the infection after 4 weeks though. Might be worth having some very simple 'easy' foods for a week or so, so there are fewer variables, and throw in some basal testing too. Hope things stabilise for you soon! 🙂

Ta for replying so quickly.

Basal went from 7 to 11 over 2 weeks and is now down to 10. QA correcting +2 for 2 weeks, then +1 for a week and now a bit random. I only have about 8-10 units of QA per day under normal circumstances.

I will plod on until the weekend and then do some analysis to see if I have new ratios
