I find it is incredibly difficult to judge the CHO content of sausages if you are eating out and not cooking them yourselves; they are just so variable. And if you are cooking them yourself you need to buy the ones with a detailed analysis on the side to have any idea.
Yesterday I after work I went to the German Christmas Market on the South Bank. They were selling german ones like bratwurst and schinkenwurst. They are all 100% meat and CHO free. Anyway I had two as the rolls they came with were quite small - very un-german. Despite having a glass of "gluh" wine (their mulled wine) with them my BG was 6.3 when I got home. Last time I had a sausage sandwich, with a cup of tea, it was double that two hours later. I think the big supermarkets need to start selling far more 100% meat sausages. And that does not mean 50% fat!
