Not this is not the relish but a recipe. Before I was diagnosed my late mother used to make this fairly regularly. After I was diagnosed she never made it again. With carb counting I should be able to eat it but I have been unable to find the recipe. Does anybody know it? The main ingredients were sliced potato and sliced hard boiled egg. It was layered in a dish with white sauce (I think). Bacon may have been included but as it was over 40 years ago the memory is hazy!

Many thanks - it seems very much like it. Mum made it in quite a deep dish so it was multi-layered. My sister reminded me that it also has some sliced onion in it but not as a distinct layer.

I might cook this dish myself. If ingredients are potatoes, boild eggs, bacon and white sauce, it can't go wrong! (Unless I make my white sauce lumpy, that is) My husband said he had a quite similar dish when he was in Canada, many many years ago...🙂
