An interesting topic, especially given that insulin prices have been rising exponentially year on year.

Thank the Lord that none of us - thus far! - have needed to concern ourselves over such things as pricing and have been able to 'explore' different ones until we find those that do what they say on their tins, for us personally.

There are ‘biosimilar’ insulins, but as @Flower will tell you, those are not interchangeable with the branded versions, and cannot be relied upon to act in exactly the same way.

The real scandal is the price gouging, especially in the US, with exponentially escalating insulin costs for old, completely unchanged formulations that have been around for decades.

This is quite literally killing people.

#insulin4all is a campaign that is seeking to put pressure on pharma companies to behave more humanely.

Yes, price gouging is completely unjustified. It’s not that basic ingredients are rising in cost, unless the bacteria and fungi that make the insulin have claimed a pay rise.
