Relationship to Diabetes
Type 2
hi everyone.
I have type 2 diabetes for 7 years. My blood sugars are to high and I’ve had my first experience of gastroparesis.
Does anyone one have a diet, food to include to help with this. I’ve read that fibre is a no no as ate raw veg.
I’m at a loss and my GP is useless.

Thanks in advance

Hello Blonid and welcome to the forum. 🙂

What have you been doing for seven years?! Mind you, I've been messing about for three years. Denial is a wonderful thing. 🙄

Eat like Drummer. I need to do that too I think.

From what I can gather gastroparesis can be quite a challenge. There are meds which help some people, and a 'small particle' apporoach to eating can help too I think.

@AJLang has lived with gastroparesis for some time and is a fount of knowledge - perhaps she will be able to offer you some more practical pointers.

I’ve had my first experience of this. So I want to take charge and whilst I’ve lost 2 stone my BMs are still higH.

I have dysmotility, which is similar to but much milder than gastroparesis. I don't have any problems with fibre or raw veg, but I find that nuts and seeds can cause problems, and I can't tolerate very much fat (which is really annoying, because they are all good things for diabetics to eat, of course 🙄). I take Ranitidine whenever I have a bad day with it, and that helps a lot.

As Mike says, @AJLang has gastroparesis so she is the person you need.
