My DSN has just text me to say that the reason I have not received an appointment for the gastric emptying study yet is that the consultant who agreed on the referral is on long-term leave. She is now going to try to sort it through my gp - my gp however won't refer me so can my DSN override him seeing as the consultant agreed it? Concerned I'll be back to square one.
 
I don't know the answer newbs, but surely your health requirements should not be put on hold because someone is on long term leave. I would have thought that your consultant's intentions should force the GPs hand, or another consultant should be found if the DSN can't do it.

Hope things get resolved for you and you get the test soon! 🙂

I haven't heard anything further from my DSN so just a case of wait and see I guess.
