Honeymoon period is well and truly over.
Ratio of 1:10 needed due to constant highs but no ketones

Have you actually checked your basal? Basal is normally the first to be increased.
Just for your info, I've been type1 for almost 57 years and my ratios vary from 1:14 - 1:20 at the moment 🙂

Yes - and me! I've been fully expecting it to change any time since I first started with it ?20 years ago.

I'm also still on 1:10 since I was started on insulin but my basal insulin needs increased as my honeymoon period came to an end.

ahh ok yes good point.
Perhaps I need to test my Basel.
Could someone remind me how to do this please?

Just because your insulin to carb ratio is the "standard starting point" does not mean your honeymoon is over.
It may be a slight increase due to illness, stress or less exercise than usual.
Your "final" insulin to carb ratio may be higher. We are all different and need as much insulin as we need. It maybe 1 to 20, it may he 1 to 15, it maybe 1 to 5. It maybe different at different times of the day.

Diabetes is not always constant. After nearly 20 years since my diagnosis, I am still alert for changes in my insulin dose - both basal and bolus need tweaking
