Many of us are on Gabapentin for either phantom pain or diabetic nerve pain. A recent urine test showed high inflammation markers and I am now on antibiotics. However I have read that Gabapebtin can cause f-alse positives for both protein in urine and infection. Has anybody experienced this?

It seems that you should tell whoever is undertaking the tests or interpreting the results that you are taking gabapentin

Gabapentin might make protein appear, but not inflammatory markers, so it’s probably appropriate for you to take antibiotics. If the antibiotics don’t fix it, you might need to switch to Pregabalin, which works just as well but has fewer side effects.
