G7 CGM and connectivity to iPhone XS

I am having endless problems with loss of connection between my iPhone and Dexcom G7. The connection is lost all the time even when the two devices are really close together. I complained to Dexcom support about this and they replaced one sensor but it’s happening with multiple sensors. It got so bad that I have purchased a receiver ( very expensive!) as NHS won’t provide me with one. The funny thing is that when I first used the G7 about six mo this ago this didn’t happen often at all? My phone is only on iOS 16.6.1. I am wondering whether upgrading it would improve matters but don’t want to make things worse. How are people getting on with iOS 18.5? Has anyone got any suggestions?
Thanks

I may be mistaken but I think Dexcom sent out a message recently advising users not to automatically update to the most recent update on IOS until they advised. Obviously that won't be the issue for you using IOS 16.6.1 but it did really surprise me that Dexcom's app was not up to speed with a current update. I believe it happens more frequently with Libre.
I personally prefer the Libre reader to using the phone app, so I don't have these connectivity issues to worry about. The reader is nice and small and reliable which is all I want from it.
Dexcom should have offered to supply you with their receiver if you were having persistent problems. I believe Abbott do when people have issues with Libre. I have always been a reader user from first self funding, so my reader was upgraded free of charge when I moved to Libre 2.

Hello @CathyFP

I was told by my DSN to make sure I deleted all expired Dexcom 7 sensors from my phones Bluetooth as they can interfere with the connection. I did have a long list of them & now delete the old one before starting a new one.

It’s worth a check to see how many expired sensors are listed in your Bluetooth & maybe causing a connection issue.

Omnipod sent an email about the g6 and android update. I will add a post here. But that’s the only recent update I’ve seen from Omnipod or Dexcom personally

Thanks… but I already do this
