Full of good intentions... failed miserably

Good afternoon,

Went to a work lunch event. Buffet on offer, in my head I decided 1 sandwich and 1 piece of cake only. OK, I failed miserably and god knows how many sandwiches I ate (they were delicious) at least I kept to the one piece of cake rule. Arrived home later and out of curiosity I tested. 14.3 ahhhh, serves me right. Tested an hour or so later and it had dropped to 8.8 Still high but going the right way. No doubt this minor indiscretion will play havoc with my hba1c test in April... but tbh 1 day of high carb, I can live with that, i am very careful 90% of the time! Putvthe high entry on Mysugr app and the odd jiggy thing said 'it happens' that made me laugh.

It happens... One slip won't have any effect on your Hba1c!

Ah that's kind. Tbh they were worth the slippage...

Seen the 'it happens' on MySugr app, never quite worked out what the odd jiggy thing is 😉
No need to beat yourself up about it ....

That jumpy/jiggy thing is so irritating.Still can't work out the point of it 🙂

@Sharron1 that's not a fail, you just gave your body the day off 😎

Sharon as others have said don’t be too hard on yourself. You only wanted to act like a normal person at a work event with your colleagues.
There is absolutely nothing wrong with that and will not effect your next test result one iota.In fact it may actually improve it simply by having a day off which can act as a big motivator.
You have done nothing to make you feel guilty at all and wish you very well.

That is a very sweet response, thank you. However, I know myself only too well, I don't feel any guilt I am simply greedy:rofl::rofl::rofl:

It’s your diabetes monster - which you are trying to tame. :D

In the early versions I used, you had a chance to give it a name. I always found it quite funny, and a good distraction when things had gone out of kilter.

A name, you are kidding? I can think of a few but they would get me chucked out of the forum. The thing also made an equally annoying noise when it was jigging I somehow managed to get rid of that. Hooray

LOL! Yeah I think you can turn the reactions off. Been a while since I’ve used it tbh - though it was by far my favourite logging app.

dont beat yourself up over one day its not worth it
take care
gail

That's very kind of you, thanx.
