Has anyone else had this happen to them?

My diabetes specialist has given me a list of medications I should use and ones I shouldn't use. The kidney specials has given me a list of medications to use and a list not to use. Both specialists have contradicted each other and think I should sort it out.

I took the lists to the pharmacists who told me which ones would clash and make me more ill and told me to speak to the consultants but couldn't give me a list in writing of which ones work with which.

It is VERY frustrating, if my wonky body doesn't kill me the clashing medications will!

Caroline that is so frustrating for you. Can your GP help?

This is very frustrating Caroline.

Well done for thinking of the pharmacist. A real shame they couldn't provide their information written down - all these drug names are so hard to remember!

I would go with the pharmacist. Our practice has its own pharmacist one day a week, and he was very helpful for me with a different situation from yours, but helpful.

This would be my approach too. Pharmacists are best equipped to do medicine reviews and need to seek clarification from the respective specialists as to what you should be taking Caroline.
