hi I keep reading to be careful with fruit intake I am new to this just diagnosed few months ago I didn't eat fruit for first couple of months but last few days I have eaten fruit and yogurt (goodness) for breakfast I tested before breakfast and was 6.8 then 2hrs later tested and was 6.9 can someone please tell me that this means I am okay with fruit by the way it was asda kiwi pinapple and grapes pot

Yes those results are great so it seems that particular fruit is very good for you, berries are good as are the likes of apples, satsumas etc, I would be careful on the intake of grapes as some members nick name for them are 'sugar bombs' but based on your results as long as you don't go over board on them they won't do you any harm 🙂 x

thanks Kaylz I will try satsumas next and see how I get on and I think there was about 8 red seedless grapes in pot but I will be careful x

No bother 🙂, I have granola and Skyr yoghurt with honey for breakfast everyday it's delicious but I have a real fancy for yoghurt, topped with strawberries and pecans haha 🙂 x

It's all about testing, Brenda, You may find some surprises along the way... Both good & bad😱

Everybody is different. It's all about testing and testing! I can tolerate citrus fruits very well which is great because I LOVE pineapple whereas others can't. I however can't tolerate bananas which upsets me and I only eat them post hypo or when I need a quick boost.

Like what's already been suggested, berries are the lowest carb fruits

Welcome, seems like you can eat those fruits, but be careful with portion sizes.

One thing I can't have now is grapes cause there like Maltesers with me once I have one I can't stop lol. I've found oranges and pears I'm ok with .

Hi and welcome Brenda - I buy tubs of mixed frozen berries from Asda - I divide them into small storage tubs then pop them in the freezer - that way I can take out one tub as & when and have as either a snack or with yogurt - as @Kaylz said earlier grapes are sugar bombs so best to ignore them if you can. Take care x

I sometimes chuck a few grapes in a salad but that's because it's low carb I can get away with it.

I like pineapple as a treat.

I'm okay with berries butbhave to watch apples and pears. Especially ripe pears xx
