Do any of you long term diabetics (over ~25 years) recall when the fructosamine blood test came into regular use? I am trying to piece some of my long diabetic history together. Thank you!
 
I've only ever read about it apparently being used if the person happened to also be anaemic, and I never have been AFAIK.
 
This reckons ‘about 30 years ago’

Another lab page I browsed from Australia suggested ‘since the 1980s‘
 
I found an article which suggested that the current modified form of the test has existed since 1990. I don't know at what point and under what criteria it may have been routine
