my shoulders have not been good for a while.... but now its getting silly... very painful ..:( any advice folks ?

Hi. You need to determine whether it's genuine frozen shoulder (adhesive encapsulitis) or fibromyalgia. My wife had the former and effectively there is nothing you can do. If it is the former, do NOT have a steroid injection as it will be painful and achieve nothing; GPs tend to offer it regardless. I'm afraid it can take a year or so to clear. Amitriptyline is a very good painkiller for this. An operation sometimes helps but results vary. If it's fibromyalgia then steroids and other treatments may help.

Hi. If it is a frozen shoulder, I'm a veteran of them lol, they do hurt don't they. I've found the injections do help a lot but they don't cure it. I didn find the injections painful either.
if it is a frozen shoulder it's likely you'll be offered physiotherapy..
Whatever the cause I hope it clears up quickly

Dreadful - my hand used to go dead without warning and I'd totally lose the grip and drop things. My right shoulder and I'm right handed. Tricky!

Could be a number of shoulder conditions @am64 including chronic rotator cuff wear and tear or bursitis etc. Frozen shoulders seem to plague diabetics and I live in fear of one developing in my right shoulder which has a complete full tear to the rotator cuff following a fall and looks to need surgery after 10 months of physio.
You need to see your GP. They're preferred option these days seems to be straight to physio but it's hard to know exactly what the problem is without an ultrasound or preferably an MRI.

I sympathise. Can't remember a day without pain since this started and already having extensive arthritis doesn't help! :(

I had frozen shoulders, How unlucky is that, First the right one then 3 months later the left one. Too just over 18 months to recover, Diclofenic anti inflammatory pills and physio, which was pulley on a string raising and lowering numerous times. Doc gave me one jab in right shoulder- nothing happened,so I said No more. All fine now,but told you can get it again, But not cause your type 1 o_O

Thank you once agin folks for your support . I am not sure if its proper 'frozen' shoulders I have mentioned it to GP and he said maybe its due to my sudden leap in BGL ...as well as my shoulders my elbows, wrists and hips hurt ...and my arms have lost their strength . I used to run a charity shop a while back and had rotaional cuff injury from humping stock around maybe its just that flaring up ....or could be due to the knitting I do ...large colourful throws ....although havent done much for over a week now cos of the pain ...I gave up smoking and became addicted to knitting !!!! GP wants to get BGL sorted first and see whats going on then

Years ago when I had mine my GP said it's a 6 month job when you aren't diabetic. Two months ramping up to excruciating, two months excruciating and two months subsiding. Unfortunately if you do have D - multiply those by 3. 18 month job.

Rotten bugger was right. Stupid things you can't do, like 'marital relations' - Good God - who ever imagined you used your damn shoulders when you did THAT? 😱 :( :D
