Relationship to Diabetes
Type 1
Hello, dear friends. I learnt about this brilliant forum yesterday, and here I am. I have had the diabete Type 1 since 2014 and it is a part of my life currently. Thank God I haven't had any health problem yet and I hope this situation will go on.
I am fond of the UK, its culture and traditions. This is a wonderful country and my favourite one. I would like to ask you people, is it able for immigrant with diabete to find a good job in the UK? My love to this country is so big I would like to travel there by any way.

No more difficult than it is for anyone else at the moment - unless it's a barred occupation - but of course I've no idea about work permits or residency Mikhail and you'd certainly have to fund all that yourself, along with any medical treatment, drugs and insulin you need.

In order to stay here after a certain amount of time I think your job has to pay a very good salary indeed - 50% more than I earned a year all my working life - and none of us know what the UK Law has in store after March 29 anyway.

Thank you for your answer; I really appreciate it! Maybe you are able to advice me any sites where I can look for a job in the UK?

Welcome Mikhail. I have been to the Russian boarder on my motorbike . A long way ? Good luck My nice went to France recently & got a bill from our friends over there ? Sooner we are out the better ? Things will improve 🙂

@Mikhail - no I can't - years ago whenever seeking alternative employment I used specialist local agencies for my own skillset - wouldn't have a clue for anyone else even if British.

@HOBIE - the EHIC card only entitles anyone from anywhere to whatever nationals of that country are entitled to in an emergency - eg if you are French and visit your GP over some health concern emergency or not you still have to pay. Ditto hospitals and ALL drugs have a co-pay. Not all hospitals even accept EHIC at all. When they do - they bill the NHS for whatever it is. We still need Travel Insurance for anything not covered by EHIC. EHIC doesn't replace free NHS treatment as and when whatsoever, and never has.
