Hi everyone
I have just changed from FreeStyleLibre 2 sensor to 2 PLUS sensor yesterday and experiencing lots of low glucose readings but don’t feel the hypos. When I check the readings by a finger prick test the readings have been normal and a lot higher by finger pricking. My low glucose alarm went off several times last night. The difference between sensor and finger pricking readings were quite considerable.
Has any of you experienced this and did it normalise naturally? I certainly don’t want to go back to finger pricking.
 
If the lows were at night, they are most likely to be compression lows - false lows caused by pressure applied to the sensor cutting off the flow of interstitial fluid to the filament.
These are more common at night when you lie on the arm with the sensor.
You can often spot them on your graph as the BG drops suddenly (as you turn onto your arm) and then rise suddenly (as you turn over off your arm).
The best way to avoid them is through sensor placement on a part of your arm you do not lie on.

It is likely you just put the Libre 2+ in a slightly different place.

Or, it could be a faulty sensor.

Hi @Nordic Girl, I would say if there was a considerable difference (and it’s not a compression low) give Abbott a call and report it as a suspected faulty sensor, I’ve reported a number of suspected faulty including a few that it turns out now I understand slightly more I realised some weren't faulty but I was wrong, not saying you are, but obviously you don’t want unnecessary alerts or big inaccuracies.

I don't think that's unusual. Whenever I've had a sensor failed it's always shown low reading rather than high. I haven't noticed much difference between Libre 2 and Libre 2 Plus.
 
Sorry to hear you seem to have had a dodgy sensor @Nordic Girl

Hope it either settles down, ot Abbott are happy to replace it. I had a few Libre sensors that started a bit ‘off’, but which settled after a day or two. Though sometimes the dodgy starters just hadn’t inserted well and never recovered.
 
Sounds like a wonky sensor rather than the change over. I found no different in the 2+, I found it very accurate for me, and I have with the other versions, apart from the few the few faults.

Some people find the 24 hour warm up is needed, see how it is day 2 and still not matching bloods I would I would stick another on and let freestyle know.
 
I am only on my second Libre 2 Plus (5 days in) but so far they have been as reliable for me from the first hour to the last as the Libre 2 was and the Libre before so I have had very reliable service from Freestyle Libre for nearly 5 years.

I suspect this problem you are experiencing may be a case of the filament kinking on application if it is persistently reading low. Abbott should replace it if you contact them. I think there is an online form to do that but on the very rare occasion I have had an issue, I have spoken to the customer services team on the phone and always found them really helpful.
 
Hi everyone and thank you so much for all your replies and willingness to help and support. I am pleased to say that the issue has now settled. I tend to panic too quickly.
I learned a lot from your replies and gained confidence by contacting the forum and connecting with people who are in the same journey, living with diabetes, which is very challenging at times.
