Hi all,
I purchased a Miao Miao CGM device to work with my Libre. The first time I used it my Libre sensor died (RIP!) after 7 days which has never happened before. I was using the Glimp app which flashes up a warning “The NFC antenna model of this device can break Libre sensors. We strongly recommend not to use this device to read the sensors”. I use my phone/librelink to scan and not a Libre reader.
Does anyone have experience with this?
Happy Monday everybody x

Morning..

Any of the free apps that work with Libre/MiaoMioa, Tomato, GLIMP,XDrip, Spike basically have reversed engineered their software to get the data from Libre, they are not supported by Abbotts, think Abbotts at some point has tried to get them to stop.

Because of this they do pop up various warnings I get the same warning with xDrip but I have used it with NFC on the Libre and it has work fine.

I guess the big issue is that IF the Libre failed because of the 3rd party software them Libre would not replace it, hence why I use the above in combination with the Libre software.

So far out of the last 10 libres I have had, 8 have failed.

Evening!
Thankyou for your reply.
Libre would not replace anyway as i purchase from eBay, not eligible for prescription as 15 months down the line I’m still honeymooning, stopped insulin to control carbs while I still can.
So 8 of 10 of your Libre’s have failed? How far into the 14 days?

I am self funding Libre as well, so I would strongly recommend purchasing directly through Abbott. They are brilliant in replacing any faulty libres. For every libre I have had which has failed they have replaced them. All they ask for is;
1.How many days you had it before it failed
2. The serial number (which you can see from the Libre app)
3. The error message reported
4. If the failed Libre sensor caused a medical emergency

Always the same 4 questions
Getting free replacement for failed Libre will far outstrip an saving you might get from buying on ebay. Also I would worry about buying medical equipment from an auction site

By the way I use MiaoMiao with Libre as well, never been asked if I use MiaoMiao with the libre by Abbott nor do I think it is relevant for the failures

I had 2 replaced last week that fell off before the first hour was up.

I am amazed at the proportion of Libre that have failed for those using it with Miao Miao.
That seems a high rate.

I would certainly buy from Abbott direct for the Libre. They have always been brilliant at addressing any problems. Having said that I haven’t had many fail in all the years I have used them.

I have had 2 failed and 2 that i accidentally pulled of putting my arm out of car window to pay motorway toll in 4.5 years.
