Hi
Just started using this system and use a monitor which I prefer.
Can I also use my phone as well to collect data and allow access for doctors, hospital etc as do not have a laptop to download info from monitor
Any advice will be welcome

You can use the LibreLink phone app to scan your sensor and this will automatically upload the data for your doctor to see
You can use both the phone and reader to scan your sensor but there are a few things to consider
- if you want to use the reader, you must start a sensor with it. You will then be able to scan with both. If you start a sensor with the phone, you will NOT be able to scan it with the reader.
- if you have a Libre 2 and start it with the reader, the alarms will NOT sound on the phone.

There are many of us using Libre and many threads about it on the forum
I recommend using the Search function+top right of the page) to find these and have a read. I would say the important things to learn are how to keep it in place and when the sensors can be less accurate.

If you are using both monitor and phone,do the monitor readings transfer over to phone?
No.

So if you use both the reader and your phone (and you're not using a laptop to upload data from the reader) in order to get all the available data to LibreView (so your team can see it) you must scan with your phone at least every 8 hours. And if you want to use the reader to look at information like time in range, you must scan with the reader at least every 8 hours so it has all the available data.

Having said that, the phone app is very good so you'd likely want the reader more for finger stick blood tests. Or perhaps because it's more convenient to use while you're walking or something. (Scanning with a smartphone is a bit more fiddly because you need to hit just the right point for NFC to work.)

No the data doesn't sync on your devices so if using both you will still need to scan both in the stated time frame to obtain the full 24 hours of data on both devices xx

The data is not transferred over from the reader but when you scan, you are downloading the last 8 hours of data from the sensor to your device so, as long as you scan with your phone at least once every 8 hours, you should not see any gaps in the data.
The sensor is pretty dumb - it does not know when you last scanned (or with what) so always downloads the last 8 hours of data regardless whether your last scan was 5 minutes, 5 hours or 15 hours ago.

Hope you are getting on well with the Libre @Alanalan

You *might* find your hospital will be able to download (the last 90 days) from your reader, but it does seem sensible to dual scan with your phone every 8h so that your data are being backed up.

It’s a bit of a nuisance being backed into a corner with the alarms though I find. Would make a big difference to my experience of Libre if some of those limitations were lifted, and you could use either device however suited you.
