Hello all, this is my first post. I wonder if anyone can tell me if my consultant has access to every result on my Libre app? Luckily and with effort, I have well-controlled Type 1 diabetes for nearly 33 years, so I have no problem with my medical staff knowing my results, but when by chance I asked, no one would give me a straight answer, which made it all feel slightly secretive and awkward. I was told if I've nothing to hide, I shouldn't care, and I don't need to hide any result, but it just felt odd; it was only a question!

It is possible for others like your consultant to be able to access your results as you see on LibreView. However, I think I had to sign something or click a box or grant them access somehow. It was some time ago now so I don't remember exactly only that it was not automatically made available until I had done something.

It seems odd that you did not get a straight answer.
Maybe the issue is the opposite of what we naturally expect - I know some diabetes teams have access but never bother looking and feel guilty when asked. Given how many patients they see, I would not expect mine to be spending much time looking at my graphs.

Ah so I probably will need to agree to it before it happens. I'm new to the sensor, so still on a learning curve, so to speak. I have found the sensor result compared to finger pricking result can vary quite wildly it's been quite interesting to see.

I had to get a code from the hospital clinic, and enter it into my Libreview account so that they could see my data, and it was a condition of me getting it on prescription that I did so. (that was in the days before GPs could prescribe it, and you had to get it via the hospital). They never look, though, whenever I've had an appointment and made reference to something about my Libre graph, they always say, 'Oh, wait a minute, just let me log on and have a look…'

This is very similar to my experience too.
I gave permission for the hospital to be able to access my Libre records but as far as I can tell, they never do because they always ask me what my readings have been like over the past however many weeks. I was worried they would be checking up on me all the time but as someone said further up, I'm sure they haven't got time to do that 🙂

If they gave you their code and you entered it into the relevant place on LibreView, yes. Otherwise no.

The chances of them actually looking outside of a review when you're present (or some occasion when you ask them a question where it would be relevant) is close to zero. (The hospital team where I am actually said they wouldn't be looking except under those circumstances, with the exception of checking that we were scanning however many times it was that was required under the trial. Really just checking that we were using the system.)

I had to enter a code they gave me in the Practice ID box in the Connected apps option.

Sorry this wasn’t explained clearly to you @Suzukidi and was all rather unnecessarily unnerving!

Hope you are finding the sensors a helpful addition to your diabetes arsenal 🙂
