Freestyle Libre 2plus

My prescription has been ‘upgraded’ to the latest freestyle libre 2 plus, as i am sure many of us in the UK have, but is anyone finding them absolutely c**p?!! More so in that they do not stick to the arm at all; the adhesive wears off in about 8 days which is so frustrating.
Never had an issue with the old libre2, that used to be an issue to get off when expired but these latest ones its the complete opposite!

Suppose I am going to have to get used to patches from now on and potentially buying some spares just in case!

Curious on others thoughts?!

I've had the Libre 2+ for about a year now and recently have had 2 fall off (which I also didn't have with the Libre 2) - not sure whether or not they have changed the adhesive so maybe it's a coincidence - my latest sensor change lasted less than 24hrs though with chronic signal loss and failing to scan either (Definitely not the first time with that issue either) so maybe the "Improvements" they have made from the Libre 2 have affected other things - good thing is that Abbott have replaced every single one with no questions asked (apart from the ones on the online form!)

I haven't encountered anything untoward with the Libre 2 plus as yet, but forearmed...

I found it couldn't read my glucose when it was high (16+) or when I was going hypo - it just stopped working. No problems with the sensors sticking tho.

I must say, I haven’t noticed any difference between the 2 and the 2+, apart from the annoying extra day, which means I can now never remember quite when it’s ending. I had the odd Libre 2 that nearly fell off, and I’ve had one Libre 2+ come loose, both when I’ve got particularly hot and sweaty, I think.

Curious on others thoughts?!

You’re either being dramatic or reading too much into a few dodgy sensors or switching over in warmer weather. Perfectly fine for me, no issues at all. Why don’t you just report the failures and get them replaced.

In the almost 12 months I’ve been using the Libra I’ve had a few issues and used both the Libra2 and the Plus
without noticing much difference between the different devices,
to be fair to Abbott any suspected problems I’ve always reported to them they have willingly sent a free replacement so please ensure if any drop off or you suspect anything wrong be sure to report

I found it fine as a sensor via my phone but useless connecting with the Omnipod 5 and PDM.

No difference as a CGM compared to libre 2. Might be a bad batch?

After 5 years of using Libre and Libre 2 with no real adhesion problems other than accidentally catching them, my first 2 Libre 2plus sensor started coming adrift early. The first one was in extreme circumstances where it was very hot and I was doing lots of work with my arms all afternoon, trimming horses feet and it started to come loose but I felt it starting to flap and wrapped some Vetwrap around it from the horses first aid kit which kept it in place for several more days but eventually it dropped off. The second one I think it was about day 8 and again I felt it getting loose and put the vet wrap on and that held it for the remaining days and it continued to read accurately right to the last 10 mins of it's life.
I have now replaced the arm strap I used to use which is the type with a plastic watch face surround and an elastic strap. I used one of these for several years with Libre 2 and it really provides a lot of support and protection for the sensors and I prefer it to over patches. It also acts as a physical reminder of which arm my sensor is on when I get carried away having a good scrub in the shower as I have tried to scrub a couple of sensors off in the past simply because I forget which arm it was on.

I was apprehensive about upgrading as Libre 2 worked really well for me, but apart from those 2 adhesive failures it is working really well for me and very accurate most of the time. Now I have a new arm strap I have no worries and current sensor is certainly well stuck after 10 days.
I do think placement is also a factor and finding a spot where it isn't on a flexing part of the muscle is also important.

i’ll report to Abbot and see what happens.
Just fill in the online form - Google libre sensor support form. What happens is they send a replacement

Well, I'm very disappointed to report another Libre 2 Plus failure. This time it died (as oppose to falling off) on day 13 after showing a very unnatural horizontal line in the red all night, rallied briefly up to 6.3 this morning after I got up and had a coffee (finger prick was 9.3) and then went back down to 2.9 despite me eating breakfast and drew another very horizontal line in the red before ending and telling me to replace it. Report form completed.

If anyone is interested I got error code Er3,373,P last night and this morning until it gave me two Er3,365,P just as it ended. I have been wearing my new arm strap and the sensor is still very securely attached all the way around although I did ping it yesterday evening when I was trimming hooves and the horse decided he wanted his foot back in a hurry, so maybe that kinked the filament. It was still reading OK afterwards but then clearly went wrong overnight whilst I slept.

That is 2 out of 4 failures so far with the 2 Plus so hoping I am due for some better luck soon. If I hadn't had such great success with the original Libre and Libre 2 I might think that they were allergic to horses/hoof trimming.

I had a rare failure the other day. As you know, I usually use the reader, but I’ve been shadowing it with my phone, scanning it 3 times a day, so it uploads to Libreview, because my laptop has died and I can’t get the stuff off the reader any more.
So I decided to take the plunge and start the new one with my phone, so I could try the CGM function. So it scanned, and did the hours warm up, but when it told me the hour was up, I didn’t get a display, just blank lines. So I tried scanning it, and it immediately told me the sensor had failed and I should remove it and start another. The event log gave me error 365.
I was too pessimistic to start the next one with the phone, so went back to using the reader. I will never know if it was coincidence though, or whether there is a problem with it not staring up if I use the phone exclusively.

Well my new sensor is giving me a reading of 5.9 tonight against a finger prick of 6.2 so I certainly can't complain at that, especially as it didn't get a day/night bedding in time before activation. Let's just hope this one lasts the journey. I have more hoof trimming to do tomorrow, so keep fingers crossed for it!
