Does the freestyle libre 2 use the same sensors as the freestyle libre 1? I'm asking because I need to order some sensors from the gp

different sensor requires different reader, I don't quite understand the question though from the title and the content of the thread

Are you asking if the Libre 2 reader will work with the original Libre (1) sensors?

It is the sensors themselves which are designated Libre or Libre 2 The original Libre sensors will I believe be phased out so once you are prescribed the Libre 2 the original sensors will likely be removed from your prescription list. I thought I read in another post that you had some unused (original) Libre sensors still in stock in which case it would make sense to use those up first with your original reader or phone and then start using the Libre 2 sensors if they have now been prescribed to you.

Yes that's exactly what I'm asking.
It must be someone else who has some unused original libre sensors.

I have to be honest I don't know if the Libre 2 reader will work with the old sensors but you should still have your original Libre reader as they are not asking for them back..... Or is it that you don't have your new Libre 2 reader yet but you have the option to order the Libre 2 sensors. If that is the case and you have ordered the Libre 2 reader from Abbott then it should be with you fairly promptly (they are pretty good with dispatching stuff) so I guess it depends how many days you have left on your current sensor and when you ordered your replacement Libre 2 reader.... AND.... has your prescription been amended to Libre 2 yet as it isn't automatic. Once that happens, the original Libre sensors will almost certainly be removed, so you may have no choice in the matter.

Libre2 sensors are different and need a different reader as far as I know
