Hi and welcome to the forum. Sorry to hear about your son’s diagnosis, but it sounds as if you are simply getting on with this new normal life. What a fantastic place to be on holiday.
Are you on South or North Island?

As far as I know you will not be able to purchase a sensor in NZ, but you could contact Abbott to check.

I also find my Libr fantastic, and having had one fall out after swimmin, and another when it was attacked by a door jam, I am now in the habit of putting a tegaderm dressing over it, having cut a hole in the Centre first. That might be useful to ensure that your final one lasts the rest of the holiday.

Hi. The libre is fab and it’s hard to be without it as a fully grown adult waiting for them to arrive never mind as a little boy. I’ve had one just fall off and also use Tagaderm. I think they’ve changed the glue so they’re not as sticky .....anyway.....just a thought but could you get in touch with Abbott and have one delivered to where you are? Add another postal address? I have 3 addresses but all in the UK. They are pretty helpful. Hope you’re having a great time in New Zealand.

They have changed the glue to make them more sticky, and less likely to fall off, according to what they tell me.

Mine seem to fall off much more easily now! I’ve had 2 since the change and my skin has reacted to them too, maybe that’s why they’re falling off ....but......I am about to apply the 3rd - a replacement for last weeks that claimed I was 1.8 for 5 hours (I wasn’t!) and so low thereafter it couldn’t record a value and just said Lo Once you’re hooked on them you’re hooked!

The info you get from them is very good. Give your arm a bit to dry from the wipe & they stick fine. Good luck 🙂

Oh the disappointment......sensor number 27 in total....some have worked some have not.

The scientist in me has always wondered how the needle bit works....now I know how as it popped off the applicator and got stuck in the sensor! No harm done. Hubby pulled it out eventually after worrying he’d hurt me. Unfortunately the sensor didn’t fire up and said ‘replace with a new sensor’ which I don’t have ☹️ As the last of my allotted monthly 3 malfunctioned last week and this was the replacement.

Managed to get hold of someone at Abbott and they’re sending a (another) replacement - just have to wait for it to arrive.
