Know its a longshot but here goes

Im a white wiccan witch which means i believe what you send out returns to you threefold. Im a solo practiser. My question is this - I want to go back to wiccan ways, and this means casting spells. Good ones only. Dont believe in black magic ones. As a practicing white witch, am i covered under the right to practice your religion .they know im a white witch i told them that when i had my assessment for this place all the manager said it takes all kinds , we have all kinds here.
i have neglected my wiccan side for a while and wish to return to the old ways of caring, loving white magic This involves the use of candles and i wish to perform a simple blessing spell on my room. This will mean the lighting of a white candle and doing a simple incantation
Can they say no to me or is it covered under the freedom to practice religion I dont want to do it behind their backs as it means i would not be able to do it due to it being deceitful and this would mean the spell would not work
thanks for reading this far

From my experience of care settings, they're likely (understandably) to be nervous about lighted candles, regardless of the reason for them.

Do you mean when your in hospital?

I would have thought they would have to accomodate you some how to respect you beliefs

Might be a bit funny about candles due to 'elf and safety but theres usually a place if worship for all....or none......faiths that you could do it in

Good luck

thanks im living in a residential home for people with MH issues. I know we are not allowed to use candles normlly but i will be very careful and will only need it for 5 mins aprox. Im going to have a chat with the manager in the week Will see what she says I just wanted to know my rights if they get axward. Dont think they will just wanted to be sure thats all
cheers gail

Im going to have a chat with the manager in the week

If they are going to be funny about a candle but its only going to be for 5 minutes ask if a member of staff could be present to 'supervise'.........that takes a lot of the responsibilities off you.......and also maybe a convert to Wicca 😉

I know very little of Wicca, so apologies if my suggestion is inappropriate, but would a battery powered candle be a reasonable compromise?
good idea but it needs tobe a white real candle White for purity and peace. In Wicca the color of a candle means something. and it needs to be blessed by moon water (natural rain water collected in a container then left out overnight in the moons rays, the stronger the moons rays the stronger the water)
Can i just thank everyone for their kind replies
cheers

Thank you Gail for the information - it’s always good to learn something new. I did get some battery candles from Amazon at Christmas which were actually waxy like real candles, though more ivory than pure white.

I hope you manage to get something sorted out.

We obviously share some beliefs - though I am what my grandmother called a 'Natural' - in that I was not taught things I seem to know.
I have been lighting white candles in the hope of healing for someone for a little while now. I have a highly polished steel plate and a heatproof glass bowl - the candle in the bowl on the plate give the impression of ripples spreading outwards. Hopefully you will be able to reassure the powers that be with some similar arrangement.
The ripples are because of the rings in the glass bowl - if you don't want them I expect a plain one could be found more easily than the one with ripples.
The moon is, at the moment, the tiniest sliver of itself, and will not be full until the 13th of April - which is my birthday. It is called a pink moon, and I am thinking of lighting a blue candle, if that resonates with you.
I was born just after one in the afternoon - 13 minutes past the 13th hour on Friday the 13th - (in a caul, which is thought auspicious). I will light the candle at that time on that day and wish you well.

Very interesting i was born in a caul as well; my nan who was at the birth said she will carry on the family female tradition of wise work. I even have the family book of herbal recipes/white spells. Its been added to by the past generation of my female kin and will be passed onto the next generation by me when I pass onto the next sphere of this belonging.Good luck in lighting your blue candle i hope it works well for you and brings you wellness
