Just had my pack through the post.... its a 6 week course for nearly four hours each week... with follow ups at 3m 6m and a year..... gotta do more blood tests than the norm keep a food diary and get extra hba1c test too.... i only figure i am bound to learn new stuff to help my control so has to be a good thing.... has anyone else been on this course?

Hi Medusa..

I've not heard of this course, is it only available to type1 or is it also available to type2 on MDI insulin. Which health area are you under is it Bath,

Isn't that a Sunday? Are you sure you have the right course? 😉

keep us posted as to how it goes

I assume there is financial element to running these courses, in that its cheaper to come up with your own one instead of getting DAFNE trained folk in.........

Good luck with it all, it will change everything for the better.........🙂

Is this your area's equivalent of DAFNE? I think it looks like it is, but didn't want to assume! 🙂

Looks like a good course. I hope you get lots out of it (I'm sure you will!)

yes i think it is as the point of it is to get us to eat normally by adjusting insulin! just popped in to say have now done the first session of the course, very informative so far, we even go on a supermarket tour and out for a meal lol this is already helping me with carb counting so hopefully an improved hba1c will result at some point 🙂

Glad to hear that you are pleased with the first part of the course, and feel you are already getting something from it, I hope it continues for you.

PS. You were missed on Saturday...

I hope you find the course usefull and you make some new friends.

yes we decided to take the camper on its maiden voyage for a weekend of serenity, it did me good as the nightmare assignment has come a long way tonight, how was the meet?

Hee hee, lot of us about you know - diabetic motorhome owners I mean!

Ours is a Swift Bessacar E425 - what's yours?

And have you ventured into anything like http://www.motorhomefun.co.uk ?

I know this is a website address but as it isn't peddling quack diabetes remedies I'm hoping it will escape being replaced by a line of asterisks.

oh coll not seen that site as yet so will have a browse 🙂 i have a transit conversion - professionally done back in 1989, it is in amazing condition for its age....
