Hi, All (especially newbies!)
I've been away, and still not back to the forum yet, but I am popping in for a moment to say that if there is anyone who would like the book by Gretchen Becker, The First Year, Type 2 Diabetes, I will be happy to post within the UK. It's a brilliant book, and has helped my husband and myself to adjust. Postage is inexpensive, so there is no charge to whoever gets it.
My HbA1c in September of last year was 81, in April it was down to 37, and it remained at 37 in June. I have lost over two stone (not easy as I am paraplegic) and my husband has lost nearly 5 stone. We were diagnosed at the same time. I think the book was enormously helpful. I count carbs, hubby follows (very loosely) Glycemic Index. I was on sitiglipton, he on metmorfin. We are both now controlled by diet.
First one to Send a PM to @Northerner with the name and address will get it, and I'll pop back long enough to say it's been claimed.
Good Luck!
