When I am typing my messages all the For sting tools like italics, bullet points are greyed out.
They are tantalisingly visible but I can not use them.
I have tried selecting text first still doesn’t work.

Not a big problem but it would be good to be able to use those.
I am on an iPad

Try clicking on the little cog thing? If I click on mine it goes blue and the formatting tools grey out.

I’ve outlined in red the cog wheel you need to press so that you can use the icons

I got nothin' 🙂 My last thingy on the faded blue bar is a 'save' I think, a little disc, looks like the old floppies we used to use. I need to have a go on my son's laptop, see what it's like on there.

Weird that you aren’t getting the whole menu @Ditto I wonder if it’s the device you are using?

I have the 'cog' and pressing it works.

Probably, it did fall off the back of a lorry quite a number of years ago now and burns me when I use it. I did get a new one but didn't like it so gave it to my daughter. Felt really plasticky and nasty. I hate getting used to new things. 🙄

If high bg's hadn't done for my memory I'd be able to remember the html!
