Former Mayor of Lisburn, Councillor Margaret Tolerton presented a cheque for £81,205.99 to her chosen charity, The Lagan Valley Diabetes Fund.
A reception was hosted by the current Mayor, Councillor Andrew Ewing, at Lagan Valley Island where Councillor Tolerton presented the cheque and her very best wishes for the future to the staff of The Lagan Valley Diabetes Fund.
This local charity based with the Lagan Valley Hospital will use this generous sum to assist diabetics in the Lisburn area.
Councillor Tolerton, speaking about her charity, said: “I am humbled by the final total of money raised for my chosen mayoral charity.
