Hi.
So I’ve just woke up, found my pen and unused needle in my bed. I don’t remember having it last night. 95% sure I didn’t.
Just tested 24.6! Was 6.4 before bed and 12.3 in the night. So that suggests not taken.
I am thinking I take it now, just a corrective does of novorapid with my breakfast and just keep an extra eye on it.
Does that sound like the best plan?
I’ve never done this, not in 11 years!

What a fool :( x

Sounds like a good plan to me. But perhaps another language user may advise differently.

I'd just firefight with Novorapid til tonight. If you take your long acting now, you'll get an overlap tonight, which you don't want.

I feel rotten. Hopefully it will come down quickly. I feel so hungry but know it’s not that real hunger, glad it’s today not tomorrow.

Feel stupid! Hate forgetting things like this that I have been doing for at least 11 years! How’s that even possible xx

I would take it, or possibly take half the dose (smaller doses generally have shorter duration) rather than have the full day with no basal on board.

Either way you’ll have to keep a close eye on things.

Don’t be too hard on yourself. These things are so automatic and rarely actually thought about in any active way. You aren’t the first and you won’t be the last!

Hope your BGs treat you kindly today.

You have done well to not do this in 11 years! I am impressed. I do hope you start feeling better very soon.

I took the full thing. And extra with breakfast of my novorapid. Now 16.2 which is down slower than I would like. I hate days like this.
Thanks for the well wishes x

We've all been there, before I swapped to Levemir (and got a Novopen Echo, which tells me when I last used it,) I've stood staring at my pen, thinking, did I didn't I?
Make sure you set an alarm for sometime in the night, if you take your full basal tonight, because you'll have double the amount on board for a while.

Please don't feel stupid Pheobe. I'd be suprised if there's anyone who hasn't done this....sounds like you're on top of it now...just a bit of a frustrating day of frequent testing. As Robin has said it's worth setting an alarm for tonight, just to be on the safe side.

It's also worth seeing if you can get Echo pens....wish I'd got them sooner.

You have come up with a plan, now just keep an eye on things during the day, and if planning to drive anywhere keep an extra watch on things.

You are definitely not alone in having done this and won’t be the last. The Novo pens are useful showing how long ago you did your last dose, and there are other devices that you can attach to other pens. Mind you having done this once in 11 years perhaps you just need to put it down to a glitch and not worry.

Enjoy your celebrations tonight.

Hi Phoebe . Please don’t feel stupid, you’re in good company I did the same yesterday morning 🙄 , fortunately me being T2 it’s not so worrisome for me .
I hope you start to feel better soon.

I'm impressed it's the first time you've forgotten in 11 years, I first forgot about 3 months in 🙄
Like Robin I sometimes look at the pen and think have I, haven't I, need to checkout the Echopen.
