King's College is carrying out a study to investigate the effect of the Carbs & Cals App on the carbohydrate counting knowledge of patients with type 1 diabetes. The results will help dietitians and other healthcare professionals to establish the efficacy of smartphone Apps, such as the Carbs & Cals App, in aiding diabetes management, reducing the risk of complications, and improving prognosis.
The criteria for taking part are as follows:
Are you over the age of 18?
Have you had type 1 diabetes for at least 6 months?
Have you been using the Carbs & Cals App for at least 1 month?
If a person fits these 3 criteria, they can participate in the survey.
Participation will involve the completion of a brief data collection form and 2 short sections of a questionnaire. The first section will test the respondent's carbohydrate counting knowledge (to be completed without referring to the App itself) and the second section asks for their opinion of the Carbs & Cals App.
