Ant, not a daft question at all, several of our members have reported these same problems in the past. Keeping good control of your blood sugar levels can help, as higher than normal levels can encourage infections and bacteria.

Here is a thread started a while ago - hopefully you will find some of the posts helpful:

How is the blood circulation in your legs and feet? Do your feet still get sweaty and smell? Have the hairs gone from the front of your legs above the ankle? I have all these symptoms and really hard and sometimes cracked heels. The cure is a sandpaper type file (well known brand available in boots and elsewhere) and a prescription strength heel cream (like Flexitol, your GP should prescribe this for you). I presume from what you have said that you have spoken to your GP about your foot problems. If you haven't been referred to a podiatrist (the waiting list is probably very long) it's worth going private. As a diabetic your feet are very important and should be checked by an expert. As my feet no longer sweat I find I sweat more in my groin and have to shower every day (this doesn't help the dry feet however) and this might be the cause of your other problem.

Natural yoghurt for the thrush.

But you'll not be rid of it long-term unless you can get your BG down to normal levels consistently.

Just caught up on this thread. I am just recovering from a bad fungal infection of both feet. Dr said it was the worst case he had seen. Came on really quickly - within a week - on the skin although now realise I have had symptoms with my toe nails especially the big toe for some time. Prescribed Trimovate initially but as that stopped the spread but did not alleviate the rest. Given Tribeverine - I think -tablets and creams. Cream stopped skin problems within 3 weeks. I have to continue with tablets til toe nails have completely cleared. My sugar levels had been in mid teens for a long time as meds still being changed to try and get it under control. Purely due to high blood sugar levels and prompted Dr to allow unlimited testing for 2-3 week period to help identify problem foods. In my case it was fruit in the evening!!. OK in day time thank goodness. Hope this helps.

i have not told my doctor because i thought it was just a sign of getting older and the toe fungal is only on my two big toes, which i have had for about 2 years and can't get rid of and my craked heals have been around for 2 years also, i just don't like keep going back to the doctors being a pain about what i see as silly problems, also a "BLOKE" thing but my feet don't look good and at 35 i need to get this sorted, thanks guys for help 😱

There are worse things to pester a GP with than cracked heels. They will only refer you to a podiatrist anyway.

Can't add any more about feet...

But Thrush..

Antibiotics can cause both worsen and cause thrush (I always get thrush when I've been on a course of antibiotics, so now have canastan cream at the same time, same going back😱)

But it may be worth asking your wife to see her GP for Thrush treatment, as sometimes 'bedroom activities' can pass it back and forward between the couple, as one may not realise that they've got a low level thrash as it doesn't give any particular symptoms for them..

That's true, I'd forgotten that both of you need to be treated when it persists, it's been so long since I've had it TG. And fingers crossed, or should that be legs ? 😱
